February has been a very busy month for Sun Vista Pickleball Club. The courts are in use throughout the day in both organized and open play. Thank you to park personnel for doing an excellent job in keeping our courts clean and ready for play. We appreciate the hard work you do.
- 20 players have taken the learn to play lessons with Maggie at the upper court during the past month.
- Wednesday Round Robin play for Intermediate players is being held on Wednesday morning at the lower courts with 28+ participating. Sign up is at the lower courts.
- Advanced Intermediate Round Robin play for players who want a more competitive type of play is being held on Friday’s. Check your email for details.
- Twenty-four pickleball players attended the pickleball clinic with John and Letha Rodriguez on February 26th. John and Letha are 4.5+ players who are part of the Selkirk Amped Team.
- Inter- Park Advanced play started during the month of February. Five players from Sun Vista play with the Yuma Advanced Group. Great opportunity for our park to watch some of the best pickleball played in Yuma on Tuesdays and Fridays from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- The pickleball club is working with Park Management to establish a Pickleball Web Site.
- Sun Vista players participated in the 2022 Yuma Winter Games this past month. The pickleball tournament was held at Fortuna de Oro. Congratulation to the medal winners from Sun Vista :
