October monthly news

Palloween_Pickleball

Here we are into the month of October and starting to think about returning to Sun Vista, our winter home, and enjoying the camaraderie of our fellow pickleballers both on and off the courts.  I know I am excited to see old friends and meet new ones on and off the courts this year.

Much has changed since we departed Sun Vista last spring as the park has been sold and new owners have taken over.  Nothing is more consistent then change these days but I am optimistic that, with the ever-increasing popularity of pickleball, new ownership will want to ensure that pickleball remains a priority at Sun Vista.

During the summer our Webmaster, Bernard has been improving our Web site creating a general or public as well as a member only area.  As we take advantage of the site capabilities to communicate with club members and to organize activities I hope residents will take the opportunity to register with the club and participate in club organized play, activities, and clinics.

Maggie, our Introduction to Play Coach, has asked for member support in donating used paddles for use in her program.  If you have paddles available contact Maggie or one of the coordinators and we will make good use of them in the learn to play program.

This year promises to be better than ever as I anticipate more players joining our pickleball community.  If you are in the park for the first time don’t hesitate to contact one of our club coordinators or the recreation office if you have question or would like additional information.

To everyone safe travels on your journey back to Yuma.  We look forward to seeing you on the courts!

Take care and stay safe!
