Intermediate Two Skill Level
- Has a broad knowledge of the rules of the game.
- Gets a high majority of serves and return of serves deep in the court.
- Often hits to the weak side of opponent.
- Demonstrates strategies of play during games.
- Works with their playing partner in communicating, covering court, moving to net.
- With varying consistency executes lobs, forehand/backhand ground strokes, overheads, net volleys, and sustained dinking at the non-volley zone.
- Demonstrate some success in the use of drop shots to get to the net from the back and mid-court.
- Specifically places shots rather than just hitting return shots or serves.
- Selective mixing up soft, power, drop and lob shots to create an advantage by moving their opponents around the court.
- Starting to demonstrate the ability to change a hard shot to a soft shot.
- Hits fewer balls out of bounds or in the net.
- Hits fewer pop-ups or attackable balls.
- Demonstrates ability to intentionally play in offensive mode.
- Demonstrates extended periods of volley rally’s during the game.
