December has been a very busy month for Sun Vista Pickleball Club and it appears that the rest of the season will be even busier as the park fills for the winter season. We would like to extend a warm welcome and a Happy New Year to pickleball players that are returning to Sun Vista and to those who are joining us for the first time.
What is happening this year?
- The courts are busier than they have been in previous years as there are more players in the park this year and more people have taken advantage of the opportunity to take up the game.
- 64 players have taken the learn to play lessons with Maggie at the upper court this season (November to December). And, I have noticed that the Tuesday and Thursday lessons were filled to capacity the first week in January as well.
- Wednesday and Friday Round Robin play for Intermediate players is being held on Wednesday morning at the lower courts with 28+ participating. Sign up is at the lower courts.
- Saturday Clinics for Intermediate Level 1 Players who are members of the SV Pickleball Club are being planned for the new year. (Please refer to the Player Level Guide in the Club Member Section of this site to determine player level)
- Saturday Clinics are planned for Intermediate Level 2 players who are members of the SV Pickleball Club. (Please refer to the Player Level Guide in the Club Member Section of this site to determine player level)
- Inter- Park Advanced play started during the month of October this year. Four players from Sun Vista play with the Yuma Advanced Group. Great opportunity to watch some of the best pickleball played in Yuma on Monday’s from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- SV Pickleball Club Membership fee is $10.00. To become a member contact Vic or Dennis.
