March 2023 newsletter

Another pickleball season has come to an end as residents pack up their vehicles to return home for the summer.  It has been a wonderful year on the courts and the number pickleball players has more than  doubled from the past year.  The courts have been busier than in past years with beginner, novice, intermediate and advanced players playing throughout the day.

This season Maggie has provided 140+ park residents with an introductory lesson to learn the game and start playing at a beginner to novice level.  Under the guidance of our Player Development Coordinator Don (with the assistance of both in and out of park 4.0 players) a clinic was held to develop player skill and individual group lessons were provided upon request.

We also had the privilege of having John and Letha Rodrigues, Selkirk Amped Team provided lessons to advanced intermediate players early in the season.

With the sale of the park we are seeing a change in how pickleball will be managed in the park and how our club will operate moving forward.  We look forward to working with our club members and the Resort to make pickleball at Sun Vista enjoyable for players of all levels.

To everyone safe travels as you return home for the summer.  We look forward to seeing you next fall when you return.  Take care and stay safe
