The pickleball clinic at Sun Vista was a success with 24 players taking advantage of the pro-level instruction, drill sessions and a drill competition put on by John and Letha Rodriguez. John and Letha are 5.0 and 4.5 rated tournament players and are members of the Selkirk Amped Team who make Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho their home.
John and his wife Letha have been playing pickleball for almost 15 years. They were Coeur d’Alene’s first USAPA ambassadors helping to grow the sport of pickleball in the area. They helped develop the first pickleball club in Coeur d’Alene and John served as club president and was voted as the tournament director in my second year for the Coeur d’Alene classic. John is certified through the International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association (IPTPA) as a level 2 professional pickleball teacher. His USA Tournament Player Rating (UTPR) is currently 4.60 although he has previously been rated at 5.0. He competes in 5.0 men’s and 4.5 mixed doubles. Letha is no longer competing in tournaments.

John and Letha are planning a return to Yuma and Sun Vista next season in March and will be offering an advanced clinic from those who took the clinic this year as well as the 5 P’s of Pickleball for those who were unable to take the clinic this year.
